How many of us, sometimes even daily, consult, inform or update the pages of Wikipedia? Or even use it at work? Or, you are quotations from articles or using images of the huge collections of files and Wiki Commons?
There is a large shared working behind these sites, fragmented into thousands and perhaps millions of people around the globe. But keep this structure and to travel at a cost. Make a donation to the Wikimedia (the project "mother"), or if what you are passionate about, become a member of the Wikimedia Italy. Not to mention the opportunity to contribute actively to the construction, improvement and updating of the most incredible encyclopedic shared structure of all time.

Ten years ago, when I started talking to the people of Wikipedia, I received many looks of pity and almost fun. say that many were skeptical of the idea that nothing short of volunteers around the world could join together to create a remarkable compendium of human knowledge with the sole intention of sharing it.
No advertising. No gain. No hidden ultimate goal. Ten years later, every month, more than 380 million people use Wikipedia, almost one in three of all those who connect to the Internet.
is the 5th most popular website in the world. The first four were created and are maintained through billions of dollars of investment, business and staff continue to huge marketing campaigns.
Wikipedia instead is something completely different from a commercial website. It is the result of the work of a community, a piece written by volunteers at a time. Also you're a part of our community. And today I am writing to ask you to protect and support Wikipedia. Together we can manage to keep it free of charge and free of advertising.
